Good morning and Happy New Year! I hope you've all had a great year so far. Did you make a New Year's Resolution? I generally don't do that anymore...always pitched them to the side around January 10. Now I don't have to worry about breaking them :-)

Today, we have an interview with author Jessica Kong. So grab a strawberry cream cake and a cup of your favorite beverage and enjoy!

What draws you to romance? I love romances because of the pairing of characters and their happy endings.

Do you prefer alpha/omega relationships in stories, or alpha/alpha relationships, and why?  I prefer alpha/alpha relationships because I like strong, independent characters that are leaders not followers.

Have you ever written outside the romance genre? If not, do you ever plan to? No, and I have no desire to do so.

What’s the sexiest feature on a man to you? And on a woman? Why? On a man, I would say the
eyes. Eyes speak volumes. They hold mystery, intrigue and danger. On a woman, I would have to say the way she carries and presents herself. That shows confidence and independence.

By night, you’re a romance writer. What do you do to stay out of trouble by day? Day or night, I’m a romance writer. In between that, I am a mother to three teenagers. But naturally, my kids come first always.

What’s your earliest childhood memory?  Being in diapers and combing my hair with a gigantic plastic comb.

What was the very first romance you ever read? How old were you? Were you being naughty and sneaking it off the shelf before you really even knew what sex was? How did it make you feel, and is that what hooked you on the genre?  My first introduction to romance novels was during High School. I had two girlfriends that always had a romance book in their hands. They read a book a day. I found that crazy, but eventually my curiosity got the better of me. I mean, really, a book a day during High School. I asked them to refer their favorite book to me so that I can understand what was so intriguing. It was a Native Indian romance. That was when my addiction began. I, too, started reading a book a day. J Terrible, I know, but that is what addiction means. My family didn’t mind what I was reading as long as I was reading and improving on my reading comprehension. And by the time I started reading romances, I already understood what sex was. I was in a nursing program at the time, so the human body was part of the curriculum.

Who are your latest crushes (celebrity, book character, or otherwise)? Do you ever keep those people in your mind when writing your own works?  I actually have no crushes. I have a collection of celebrity images/movie characters that have certain qualities that I prefer in my characters.  I call up their image on my computer and use it for inspiration.

If you could pick anyone in the world to be the cover model(s) on your latest release, who would it be?  Geeze, if I was able to get Brendan Fraser for Rick McCall I would jump for joy. He was my inspirational image for the character.

What’s your favorite hobby outside of writing?  Doing jigsaw puzzles and playing video games.

What would constitute your own personal happily ever after?  Marriage to the person who completes you, and having a family.

Do you own an e-reader? Why or why not? If so, what’s on it?  Funny, you ask. I had proudly declared myself as an old school book reader. I was dead against e-readers because I like the way a book smells and feels. But being the techi that he is, my husband bought me a Kindle during one Christmas ago. I wasn’t too thrilled with it, but I slowly gave it a shot.  Once I discovered the convenience of carrying multiple books with me wherever I go, I was hooked. Now I can’t live without my Kindle. It makes it too easy to read 2-3 books at a time. My reading addiction has gone out of control and my E-Book library is growing by leaps and bounds with horrors, paranormals, mysteries and romances.

Are you a book hoarder?  From my last answer you will guess heck yes!  My family can’t
understand how I can read so much.

If you were doomed to spend the rest of your life on an island with only one book, one person, one food (coconuts and fish aside), and one object from the modern world (computer, deodorant, vibrator, etc.), what would they be?  I would easily say my husband, Chinese buns (bread roll with meat inside) and my Kindle. My Kindle has many many books to keep me happy.

Do you have a favorite character out of all the ones you’ve written? If so, who is it and why is s/he your favorite?  I love ALL my characters, so it’s very difficult to choose one as my favorite.

Speaking of online hangouts, where are yours?  Where can your readers find you? I can be found on the following locations.

What’s your current book list and where can we buy them? My books can be found on the following sites:

Anything else you’d like to add?  If you pick up one of my books and enjoy it, please consider leaving a review letting me know what you think. Plus, don’t be shy if you wish to connect with me. I love making new friends.
